How Do I Determine What Size Generator I Need for My Event?

To find the right size generator for your event, begin by listing all the electrical items that will need generator power, such as:

• Lighting: You may use lighting in various areas, such as for lighting stages and sets or providing general illumination elsewhere.
• Sound systems: Consider the power requirements of amplifiers, speakers, mixing boards and other elements of your sound systems. 
• Special effects elements: If you plan to incorporate fog machines, pyrotechnics or moving elements, these will all require generator power. 
• Catering and support equipment: You may need refrigeration and cooking equipment to support food storage and preparation. Power may also run temporary offices set up during an event.

Once you've listed all the equipment that will need generator power, determine the total running watts, accounting for the highest starting wattage to handle surges. What Aerial Platforms Are Typically Used in Entertainment Settings?

We rent various types of aerial platforms for entertainment settings, such as:

• Articulating boom lifts
• Telescopic boom lifts
• Scissor lifts
• Personnel lifts

Based on your application, we can recommend the ideal type of lift. These lifts can support rigging, lighting, stage setup and camera work. Choose articulating boom lifts for the greatest maneuverability when reaching over obstacles. Telescopic boom lifts offer maximum outreach, making them useful for lighting and camera setups in large outdoor arenas. 

If you need a large, stable platform for holding cameras, actors or lighting crews, choose a scissor lift. Personnel lifts are compact and work well in areas with access challenges, particularly indoors.
