When choosing an electric or solar light tower from Herc Rentals, you’ll be getting one that’s been built to withstand the rigors of heavy use construction sites and projects. Additionally, each of these towers comes equipped with highly-efficient and heavy-duty LED lights, feature built-in secondary containers to prevent spills and risks associated with job site contamination — and are designed to be used in environments where noise pollution must be kept to a minimum.

Questions to Ask

How long does the tower need to run?

LED towers are the most fuel-efficient engine-driven option in the market with run times of up to 300 hours on a single tank of fuel. If enough sunlight is present, solar towers may also be a good option. Reference the lighting solutions guide for maximum light tower run times.

How tall does the light tower need to be?

Mast heights range from 17’ to 27’. Needs vary based on the customer’s specific application. Generally speaking, the taller the tower, the further the light will go.

Is shore power available?

If shore power is available, light towers indicated as “Shore Power Ready” can be powered by plugging into a building, generator, or another light tower without running its engine. This negates the need for refueling services and greatly improves customer efficiency. Electric light towers always require shore power to be present.

Can I connect multiple light towers to a single power source?

Yes, we offer connecting multiple light towers that are connected in a sequence and powered from a single source. This process is called a daisy chain.
